Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oleg The Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryce Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oleg The Beast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bryce Locke!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Beast shoots in for a takedown but Locke shows good takedown defense.
Locke will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The Beast lands with a straight right. Locke didn't see that one coming.


It looks like Bryce Locke has been cut.
Locke rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but The Beast moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The Beast moves into the clinch.

Locke escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Locke throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

The Beast shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The Beast is looking to advance position but Locke won't allow it.

The Beast controlling the action here.
Locke keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The Beast thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Locke's head.
Well, if The Beast is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

We're going to have a standup here because Oleg The Beast wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

The Beast closes the distance and clinches.
Locke trying to control the position but instead, The Beast has worked for underhooks and has pushed Locke into the cage.
Locke gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from The Beast.
The Beast is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Locke to keep the fight standing.

The Beast gets control of Locke's arms and successfully pulls guard. The Beast will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Locke postures up in The Beast's guard and throws a big left but The Beast blocks it.
The Beast wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from The Beast.

The Beast shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Locke sprawls well. Locke wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. The Beast gets slowly back to his feet.
The Beast tries to close the distance and clinch up but Locke swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Locke shoots for a double leg takedown but The Beast sprawls well. He's pushed Locke's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The Beast misses with a head kick.
The Beast fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Locke avoids it really well and circles away.
The Beast is breathing heavily.
Locke misses with a takedown attempt - The Beast sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Locke shoots in and drives through. The Beast sprawls well.
The Beast could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The Beast closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Locke did well to prevent The Beast getting side control.
The Beast is looking to take a break and control but Locke is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Locke holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Locke is pressing down on The Beast's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Oleg The Beast just wasn't active enough.
The Beast shoots in looking for a takedown but Locke manages to keep the fight standing, pushing The Beast's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Locke swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The Beast throws a big shot that misses.
Locke blocks a low kick nicely.
The Beast misses with a series of wild punches.
The Beast tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Oleg The Beast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bryce Locke.
With the fighters up against the cage, The Beast throws an elbow but misses.
The Beast is pressed up against the cage. Locke has hold of a leg and is looking to drag The Beast down to the mat. The Beast avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Locke gets tackled into the cage by The Beast. The Beast maintains the clinch.
The Beast is looking for a takedown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Locke is trying to stall.
Locke drops to a knee looking for a takedown but The Beast gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Locke goes for a takedown attempt but The Beast pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The Beast tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Locke swivels and escapes.
The Beast tries to close the distance and clinch up but Locke swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The Beast tries to clinch but Locke is having none of it.
The Beast throws a head kick that misses.
Oleg The Beast is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The Beast shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Locke as he avoids it easily.

Locke shoots for a takedown but The Beast saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
The Beast fails to land the takedown.
Locke fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but The Beast avoids it really well and circles away.
The Beast dodges the punch combination from Locke.
Oleg The Beast seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Locke looks for the body kick but The Beast saw that one coming.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Locke closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. The Beast did well to prevent Locke getting side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Oleg The Beast will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


The Beast shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Locke counters with a takedown into side control.
Locke is working The Beast over with some ground and pound from side control.
The Beast is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Locke lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear The Beast down.
The Beast regains half guard there - taking advantage of Locke's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Locke is looking to take a break and control but The Beast is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The Beast keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The Beast is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Locke tries to pass the half guard into mount. The Beast knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bryce Locke.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from The Beast is defended easily by Locke.

Locke shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in The Beast's guard.

The Beast keeping moving, preventing Locke from controlling successfully.
Locke pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. The Beast is keeping the position for now.

The Beast working for submissions but it's allowed Locke to get to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. The Beast manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The Beast trying to keep a closed guard but Locke is proving a slippery customer.
Locke is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Locke changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The Beast tries to avoid it but Locke manages to keep hold of a leg and drag The Beast to the ground. The Beast escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Locke gets caught napping as The Beast dives in and scores a takedown. Locke manages to retain guard.
Locke is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The Beast trying to control the position from guard on top but Locke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Locke has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes The Beast off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

I think The Beast has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
