The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Simpson.
Repo swings for the body but Simpson moves out of range.
Simpson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Repo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Repo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Repo just misses with a punch to the body.
Repo tries to bum rush Simpson with a series of wild strikes but Simpson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Simpson lands a glancing blow to the side of Repo's head.
Simpson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Repo misses with a combination
and Simpson counters with a two punch combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Repo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Repo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Repo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Simpson moves away.
Simpson blocks a jab.
Repo takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Repo misses with a left hand
and Simpson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Repo is breathing heavily.
Repo swings widly with a right hand
and Simpson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Repo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mitro Repo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Repo throws a jab when Simpson was well out of range.
Repo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Simpson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Simpson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Repo momentarily.
Simpson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Repo sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Simpson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Simpson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Repos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Simpson throws out a powerful jab.
Simpson lands with a shot to the body.
Simpson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Repo has time to react.
Repo looks to land a combination but Simpson avoids it well.
A looping hook to the body misses from Simpson. Repo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Simpson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Repo had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Oh Repo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Repo looks up at the clock. Bad move! Simpson lands a right hand from hell, dropping Repo. Simpson pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Homer Simpson!
