Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diego Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reijo Makinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diego Silva has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makinen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Silva as he avoids it easily.
Silva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Makinen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Silva throws out a powerful jab.
Silva loads up on a big right hand but Makinen slips the punch.
Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Makinen throws a combination. Silva tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Makinen to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Silva can't keep his opponent in guard - Makinen advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Makinen shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Makinen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Silva throws an overhand right that lands on Makinen's shoulder, as Makinen tries to avoid the shot.
Silva fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Makinen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Silva was covering up waiting for the punch and Makinen finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Silva wants to stand and escape but Makinen is having none of it.
Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Makinen controls the pace.

Silva throws a hook to the side of Makinen's head but Makinen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Makinen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Silva to the mat! Silva manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Makinen stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Makinen has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Silva!

Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Makinen on the ground.

Reijo Makinen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Makinen rushes Silva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Makinen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Silva fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Silva cracks Makinen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Makinen shoots in for a double leg but Silva sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Silva tests Makinen's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Silva lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Silva throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Makinen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.
