PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Dominick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Pitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dominick's entrance music is ' It's My Life ' by Bon Jovi. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Pitt. No joy for Dominick on that attempt.
Pitt displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dominick.
Pitt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dominick's waist but Dominick gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pitt off to one side.
Pitt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dominick is fending him off so far but Pitt persists. Nope, Dominick circles away and we're back to standing.
Pitt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dominick as he avoids it easily.
Alan Dominick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Pitt.
Pitt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Dominick instigates a clinch.

Pitt decides to pull guard.
Dominick really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Dominick is working Pitt over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dominick with a flurry of punches that miss.

Dominick stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Dominick lands a nice shot that snaps Pitt's head back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dominick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pitt but Pitt pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Pitt closes the distance but Dominick moves to the side

and Dominick counters by moving into the clinch.

Dominick tries for a takedown but Pitt manages to get underhooks.

Dominick turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Pitt struggling a bit here.
Pitt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dominick wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Dominick wants to control but Pitt is keeping him busy.
The strikes coming from Dominick are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Dominick fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Pitt gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Pitt is in a horrible position here. Dominick smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Dominick scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Dominick lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dominick is working for a guillotine from mount but Pitt frees his head quite easily.
Pitt tries to hold on but Dominick pushes him away.
Dominick lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pitt hang on?

Dominick is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Pitt has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Pitt is trying desperately to improve position.
Pitt tries to hold on but Dominick pushes him away.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dominick cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Pitt keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dominick lands a big elbow.

Dominick with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Pitt wants to control but Dominick is having none of it.
Dominick with good strikes from the mount here!
Dominick fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Dominick has hold of Pitt's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pitt manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dominick swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Pitt is now in Dominick's guard. A big mistake from Dominick there, giving up the dominant position!
Dominick will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dominick has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Pitt should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Dominick has tightened it up now! Pitt should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
