The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan looks for the body kick but Smith saw that one coming.
Morgan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Morgan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away.
Smith tries to clinch but Morgan moves out of range.
Morgan shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Smith eats them both and turns towards Morgan to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Smith has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Morgan.
A thudding body kick lands there by Smith!
A bone on bone clash there as Smith blocks the leg kick.
Derrick Morgan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Morgan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Morgan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
