PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kron Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Casey Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by The Bravery - time won't let me go. Carwin has chosen Tool - Vicarious as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Casey Carwin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carwin thows a body shot but no joy.
Carwin ducks under a wild hook from Gracie.
Carwin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gracie pinned against the cage. Gracie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gracie motions for Carwin to come forward. Gracie throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Carwin avoids the body shot from Gracie.
Carwin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Carwin counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Carwin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gracie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Carwin takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Carwin digs a good body shot into Gracie's ribs.
Carwin throws a leg kick but Gracie sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Carwin tries for a takedown but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Gracie fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Carwin looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Gracie throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Carwin sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Kron Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Casey Carwin.

Casey Carwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carwin sprawls well. Carwin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.

Carwin rushes Gracie and presses him up against the cage.

The crowd are getting on Carwin's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Carwin can't find room to land a body shot as Gracie controls the action.
Gracie pushes Carwin back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Carwin wants the takedown. Gracie is fighting it off but Carwin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gracie's guard against the cage.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Gracie takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Carwin sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Carwin has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gracie's face.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Carwin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gracie can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

and Carwin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Gracie throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Carwin escapes and throws Gracie's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Gracie takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Carwin swings around for an armbar but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Carwin's guard.

You can see the frustration on Carwin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gracie lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Carwin down.

Carwin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gracie kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Gracie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gracie wants it to stay on the feet.

I would just about give that final round to Casey Carwin.
