PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lime Lister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Feodore Sabre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sabre has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Lime Lister could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Feodore Sabre's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lime Lister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Feodore Sabre!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lister ducks under a wild hook from Sabre.
Sabre throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lister's waist but Lister gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sabre off to one side.
Lister lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Sabre takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Sabre throws a leg kick but Lister checks it.
Sabre misses with a takedown
and Lister counters with a straight right hand.
Lister keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lime Lister has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Feodore Sabre.
Sabre looks gassed!
Lister throws a nice outside leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sabre avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lister connects with a jab.
Sabre takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lister.
Sabre moves forwards but Lister connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Lister drops Sabre with a big left hand and mounts him. Sabre is in big trouble!

Lister sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Sabre is still in real trouble! Can Lister finish him?
Sabre is squirming around, avoiding Lister's attempts to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lister looking to control and managing it successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lister can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sabre is looking to escape.
Lister controlling from mount.
Sabre seems to have recovered his senses.

Lister is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sabre to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sabre shrugs it off.
Sabre is squirming around, avoiding Lister's attempts to control the action.
Lister content just to control the position here.
Lister trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Lister is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sabre is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Sabre wants to hold on but Lister pushes him away.
Lister trying to control but Sabre is having none of it.
Lister is really struggling to control Sabre but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Lister looking to finish with strikes here!

Sabre is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Lister looking to secure an arm triangle but Sabre defends it well.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Lister can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sabre is looking to escape.

Lister swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Sabre is now in Lister's guard. A big mistake from Lister there, giving up the dominant position!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lister is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sabre keeping moving, preventing Lister from controlling successfully.
Sabre being controlled here, momentarily.
Lister slips nicely into half guard.
Lister content to control rather than advance.
Lister seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sabre does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sabre is trying to maintain the position but Lister is very close to passing his half guard.
Lister wants to free his trapped foot but Sabre is holding on for dear life with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lime Lister dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sabre takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Sabre will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Lister fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sabre, pushing him back against the cage.
Lister misses with some punches.
Lister is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Sabre blocks a body shot from Lister.
Lister prevents the takedown attempt.

Sabre's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Lister is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sabre can do to turn this around?
A head punch on the inside from Lister fails to land.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Lister here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Lister is looking to control Sabre's arms but Sabre gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lister has his back to the cage.
Lister lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sabre backwards.

Sabre wants to break free but Lister has control.
Sabre is breathing heavily.
Lister tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Sabre drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lister pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lime Lister has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Feodore Sabre.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Lister breaks the clinch.
Lister stuffs the takedown attempt from Sabre. Sabre gets slowly back to his feet.

Lister closes the distance and pushes Sabre back into the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Lister.
Lister lands a left hand.
Lister doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Stalling in the clinch from Lister.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lister lands an uppercut.
Lister scores with a shot to the side of Sabre's head.
Lister lands with a light punch inside.
Lister is stalling here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lister creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Nice body punch from Lister.
Lister throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sabres head.

Lister escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lister scores with a hook to the body. Sabre takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lister paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Sabre gets tackled into the cage by Lister. Lister maintains the clinch.
A body shot lands from Lister.
Lister softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lister breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Lister gets a clinch.
Lister lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Sabre backwards.
Lister is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Lister lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sabre backwards.
Sabre changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lister fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lister lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Lister connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Lime Lister is winning the standup battle so far.
Sabre takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Lister lands a nice shot to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lister lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Sabre backwards.
Lister slowing the pace effectively.
Lister can't find room to land a body shot as Sabre controls the action.

Lister lands a big right hand that sends Sabre to the canvas! This could be the beginning of the end for Sabre!

Lister looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lister is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sabre defends it well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Sabre is looking to break free of the clinch but Lister has double underhooks.
Lister lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Sabre backwards.
Lister can't find room to land a body shot as Sabre controls the action.
Sabre takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sabre wants to stall.
Sabre blocking some punches.

Lister lands a right hand.
Lister lands with a light punch inside.
Lister lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Lister tries to throw a body punch but Sabre avoids it by throwing Lister back against the cage.
Sabre wants a takedown.
Lister throws a big uppercut that drops Sabre! More strikes from Lister and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Sabre lies dazed against the cage as Lister celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lime Lister!
A pretty intense looking Lime Lister took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
