PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Foghorn Leghorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quik Yin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I Got A Feeling (lol :P) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Quik Yin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Foghorn Leghorn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quik Yin!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leghorn throws a looping overhand right but Yin ducks down to avoid it.
Leghorn pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Yin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Leghorn on his heels. He'll look to pass Leghorn's guard now, I'm sure.
Yin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leghorn is breathing heavily.
Leghorn wants to stand but Yin is controlling the position.
Leghorn being controlled here, momentarily.
Yin is pushing down on Leghorn's leg trying to pass to half guard. Leghorn is fighting to maintain full guard but Yin has managed to sneak the leg through.

Yin content to control rather than advance.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Quik Yin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Yin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Yin fails with a takedown attempt.
Yin shoots in looking for a takedown. Leghorn tries to sprawl out of it but Yin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Leghorn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Foghorn Leghorn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quik Yin.

A looping hook to the body misses from Leghorn. Yin does a little dance to reset his feet.
A low kick from Leghorn is predictable there

and Yin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Yin.
Yin stops Leghorn from standing up.
Yin is stalling in the full guard.
Yin's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Quik Yin was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Nice takedown defense from Leghorn. No joy for Yin on that attempt.
Quik Yin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Leghorn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Yin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Leghorn.

Leghorn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Yin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Yin won't allow Leghorn to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yin looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Quik Yin has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Leghorn misses with a left hand
and Yin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A big left from Leghorn misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quik Yin dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Leghorn throws an overhand right that lands on Yin's shoulder, as Yin tries to avoid the shot.
Yin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Leghorn throws a head kick that misses.
Yin lands a glancing blow to the side of Leghorn's head.
Leghorn misses with a few strikes there.

Yin scores with a takedown into Leghorn's guard.
Leghorn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Leghorn tries to get out of the position.
Yin advances to half guard.
Yin is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yin controlling his opponent.

Leghorn is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Yin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Leghorn takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Yin controlling the pace for now.
Quik Yin has got the better of the ground game so far.

Yin throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Leghorn has his hands clasped together but Yin breaks the hold and Leghorn is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Yin!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Quik Yin!
