The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shepard swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shepard connects with a jab.

Arcisais gets caught napping as Shepard dives in and scores a takedown. Arcisais manages to retain guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Arcisais is looking for a triangle but Shepard pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shepard seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Shepard passes to side control.

Shepard stands up and beckons Arcisais to his feet.
Arcisais throws a sloppy head kick and Shepard moves out of range easily.
Arcisais seems to have got his legs back now.

Shepard rushes Arcisais and presses him up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Arcisais is looking for a takedown.
Arcisais tries for a takedown but Shepard manages to get underhooks.
Arcisais is breathing heavily.

Shepard pulls guard effortlessly.

Arcisais drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shepard dives on top into guard.
Shepard advances to half guard.

Shepard gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Shepard lands a nice hook to Arcisais's body. Arcisais takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Shepard closes the distance and pushes Arcisais back into the cage.

Shepard manages to break the clinch.
Arcisais throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Shepard lands a left and a right that send Arcisais crashing to the mat, dazed. Shepard thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Mikai Arcisais has been cut.
Shepard cracks Arcisais with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!
