The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smrah has Poddubny up against the ropes in a clinch.

Smrah has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Poddubny regains guard immediately.

Poddubny had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smrah defends it easily.
Smrah cracks Poddubny with a solid left hand.
Smrah pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Poddubny is keeping the position for now.
Smrah trying to control the position from guard on top but Poddubny is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Poddubny pushes a forearm under Smrah's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Smrah is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

After the fight, Dobroslav Poddubny was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
