Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Poor Matt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Cannonball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cannonball has chosen Johnny Cash - God`s Gonna Cut You Down as his entrance music. Mr Cannonball has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Poor Matt's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Poor Matt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mr Cannonball!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cannonball fails with a takedown attempt.
Matt tries to keep at a distance but Cannonball has taken the fight into the clinch.

Cannonball throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Matts head.
Cannonball is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Poor Matt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mr Cannonball.

Matt is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cannonball is defending well for now.
Matt is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cannonball can't fight it off and eventually Matt manages to take the fight to the floor. Cannonball looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Matt pushes down on Cannonball's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Cannonball really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Good leg kick by Matt there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Matt fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Cannonball to the ground. Matt is now in Cannonball's guard.
Matt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Matt postures up in Cannonball's guard and throws a big left but Cannonball blocks it.

Cannonball seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Matt is looking to take a break and control but Cannonball is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Matt catches Cannonball with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Cannonball takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cannonball can do anything to dispel that myth.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Matt seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cannonball for as long as he can get away with.
