The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
TheMan connects with a good right hand that stumbles McDonald. McDonald circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
A swing and a miss from TheMan.
TheMan misses with a hook.
TheMan connects with the punch.
It looks like Tommy McDonald has been cut.
TheMan misses with a wild body shot.
McDonald throws a looping overhand right but TheMan ducks down to avoid it.
TheMan with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McDonald to score with a decent uppercut.
McDonald throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McDonald throws a shot from downtown. TheMan moves away and avoids it.
A slow jab from McDonald misses its intended target.
McDonald throws out a loose jab but TheMan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Tommy McDonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
TheMan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McDonald.

McDonald shoots in and drives through. TheMan sprawls well.

McDonald is looking to take a break and control but TheMan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
McDonald has hold of TheMan's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! TheMan tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - McDonald cranks the arm and TheMan screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from TheMan, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Tommy McDonald!
A relieved looking Tommy McDonald thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
