PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Nich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ghoul Ghotha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nich comes to the cage accompanied by Boom Boom Pow. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nich looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ghotha.
Ghotha slips a jab from Nich.
Ghotha shoots in and drives through. Nich sprawls well.
Ghotha shoots in for a double leg but Nich sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Ghotha moves into range and clinches up with Nich.

Nich had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ghotha is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nich Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ghotha's back instead.
Nich is breathing heavily.

Nich is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Ghotha defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Ghotha manages to reverse the position and now he's in Nich's guard. Nice work there by Ghotha.

Ghotha shoots for a double leg takedown but Nich sprawls well. He's pushed Ghotha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Nich swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Nich tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Horrible takedown by Nich or perhaps it was just good defense by Ghotha which made him look bad.

Ghotha shoots in and bounces Nich off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Nich escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ghotha gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ghotha wants to control from the top but Nich keeps moving.

Ghotha stands and throws Nich's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nich manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Nich wants to improve his position but Ghotha is controlling well.
Nich is pressing down on Ghotha's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Nich is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Nich is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ghotha postures up in Nich's guard and throws a big left but Nich blocks it.
Nich wants to stand up but Ghotha is controlling him.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ghotha's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

and Nich counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ghotha cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Oh Nich is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

It looks like Tom Nich has been cut.

Ghotha loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Nich scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Ghotha land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Ghotha stands and salutes the crowd.
