Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Evens!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evens cracks a nice hook into Lighting's ribs.
Lighting throws a push kick but Evens slaps the foot to one side.
Lighting closes this distance looking for a takedown but Evens circles away.

Lighting clinches.
Evens manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Evens lands a nice uppercut.

Evens breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lighting fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Evens slaps away a takedown attempt from Lighting, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Lighting. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Evens lands a nice shot to the body.

Lighting drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Evens wriggles free and stands up.

Evens bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lighting's head backwards.
Evens scores with a three punch combo!
Josh Evens is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Evens looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A left and a right from Lighting both land. Nice combination.
Lighting moves in looking to clinch but Evens pushes him off.
A combination from Lighting does no damage.
Evens scores with a head kick.
Lighting throws a head kick that misses.
Lighting looks for a takedown but Evens sprawls well.

Evens cracks Lighting with an open hand slap.
Evens works Lighting's body with a nice hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Evens lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lighting circles away quickly and effectively.
Lighting tries to clinch up
and Evens counters with a right hand to the body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lighting.
Evens scoring well with a low kick there.
Lighting is breathing heavily.
Decent striking displayed by Evens there.

Lighting throws a looping overhand right but Evens ducks down to avoid it.
Evens lands with a straight right. Lighting didn't see that one coming.
Evens scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lighting doesn't seem bothered though.
A head kick misses from Lighting.
Lighting throws a right and a left that Evens avoids nicely.
Evens dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lighting. That did some damage!
Evens feints a jab promting Lighting to slip. Evens then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lighting slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Evens lands a nice leg kick that just misses Lighting's sensitive parts.
Evens cracks Lighting with a right hand to the side of the head.
Lighting takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nice uppercut lands for Evens. That snapped Lighting's head back.

Lighting is rocked!
The fighters circle, before Evens throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Lighting's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Evens lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Josh Evens!
