Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dameshek shoots and misses
and Maeda counters with a thumping low kick.
Maeda misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dameshek.

Maeda shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Maeda was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Maeda content just to control the position here.
Dameshek tries to hold on but Maeda postures up.
Maeda controlling the pace for now.
Maeda can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dameshek is looking to escape.

Maeda fails in his attempt to clinch.
Maeda cracks the inside of Dameshek's front leg.

Maeda gets a takedown into half guard.
Maeda trying to control the pace.

Maeda trying to control but Dameshek is working from the bottom.

Dameshek manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Dameshek is working for a kimura but Maeda is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dameshek trying to control from Maeda's half guard. Maeda has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dameshek pushing down on Maeda's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Maeda is looking to improve his position.
Dameshek is keen to just control but Maeda is a slippery customer.
Maeda is trying to get back to full guard.

Maeda manages to get to full guard.
Dameshek won't allow Maeda to get back to his feet.

Maeda is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dameshek wants to control from the top but Maeda keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Maeda throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Dameshek fails with the takedown.
Maeda is looking to clinch but Dameshek is avoiding it.
Maeda feints and then cracks Dameshek's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dameshek down.

Maeda moves into the clinch successfully.
Dameshek can't get the takedown.
Mitsuyo Maeda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Dameshek.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maeda tries to throw a body punch but Dameshek avoids it by throwing Maeda back against the cage.
Maeda drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dameshek wants to stall.
Knees in the clinch landing for Maeda.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mitsuyo Maeda dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Maeda tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dameshek manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Maeda feints and as Dameshek raises his hands in defense, Maeda changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Maeda slips nicely into half guard.
Dameshek wants to improve his position but Maeda is controlling well.
Maeda keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Dameshek is trying to control but can't.

Maeda is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dameshek is just riding it out for now. Maeda eventually gives up the hold.

Dameshek looking for submissions off his back.
Dameshek is breathing heavily.

Maeda is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Maeda maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Dameshek could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Maeda has cracked it and Dameshek is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Maeda!
