Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gonzaga looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Alma is looking for a sweep. Gonzaga is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Alma is trying to maintain the position but Gonzaga is very close to passing his half guard.
Alma manages to get to full guard.
Alma looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gonzaga is one step ahead there.
Gonzaga trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Alma working for submissions but it's allowed Gonzaga to get to half guard.
Alma tries to get to full guard but Gonzaga has control of the leg.

Gonzaga shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alma pinned against the cage. Alma gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Alma throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Alma tries to clinch up.

Gonzaga closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Alma is trying to control Gonzaga's posture but Gonzaga avoids it.

Gonzaga is looking to take a break and control but Alma is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gonzaga working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Alma throws an overhand right that lands on Gonzaga's shoulder, as Gonzaga tries to avoid the shot.

Alma tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gonzaga paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gonzaga swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Alma wants to clinch but Gonzaga slips to the side
and Gonzaga counters with a low kick, right behind Alma 's knee.
Alma attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Gonzaga uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Alma.

Alma throws a looping overhand right but Gonzaga ducks down to avoid it.

Gonzaga looks to land a combination but Alma avoids it well.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carlo Gonzaga.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gonzaga, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
