Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenta Yamashita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeshita Otsuma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenta Yamashita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeshita Otsuma!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yamashita drives through with a takedown into Otsuma's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by Yamashita or perhaps it was just good defense by Otsuma which made him look bad.
Otsuma wants to clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Otsuma. No joy for Yamashita on that attempt.

Yamashita shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Yamashita changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Otsuma tries to avoid it but Yamashita manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Otsuma to the ground. Otsuma escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kenta Yamashita will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Otsuma drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Yamashita manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Otsuma has Yamashita in his guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Yamashita wants to control from the top but Otsuma keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Yamashita closes the distance and clinches up with Otsuma, looking for a takedown. Yamashita pushes Otsuma against the cage but Otsuma circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Yamashita shoots for a double leg takedown but Otsuma sprawls well. He's pushed Yamashita's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Otsuma looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yamashita is fending him off so far but Otsuma persists. Nope, Yamashita circles away and we're back to standing.
Otsuma throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yamashita's waist but Yamashita gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Otsuma off to one side.

Yamashita shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Yamashita was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Yamashita's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kenta Yamashita will probably get the nod.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Otsuma is defended easily by Yamashita.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Otsuma shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yamashita sprawls well. Yamashita wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Otsuma gets slowly back to his feet.

Yamashita really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Yamashita looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Otsuma is fending him off so far but Yamashita persists. Nope, Otsuma circles away and we're back to standing.

Otsuma closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Yamashita to the mat! Yamashita manages to get full guard.

Otsuma shoots in for a double leg but Yamashita sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Otsuma shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yamashita as he jumps to the side.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Takeshita Otsuma.
I think Yamashita has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
