PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cody Huber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastiao da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Huber might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Stronger - Kanye West. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
da Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Huber but Huber pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Huber will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Huber moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Huber looks to land a combination but da Silva avoids it well.
Huber lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but da Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
Huber walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
da Silva showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Huber.

and da Silva counters with a takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

da Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Huber, who protects the arm well.

da Silva decides to stand back up. da Silva steps back and let's Huber get back to his feet.

da Silva shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Huber manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

da Silva passes easily into side control. Nice work.

da Silva has hold of Huber's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Huber seems comfortable defending it but da Silva has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Huber is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Huber is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but da Silva couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sebastiao da Silva!
A relieved looking Sebastiao da Silva thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
