Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Imer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker has chosen The Doors - Peace Frog as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Richard Imer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Richard Imer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Walker!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Imer misses the shot to the body.
Walker lands a nice hook to Imer's body. Imer takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Imer throws a jab but it's blocked by Walker.
Walker moves away from the strike by Imer.
Imer closes this distance looking for a takedown but Walker circles away.
Imer throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Walker counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Imer takes a swing at Walker's ribcage but misses.
Imer scores with a nice head shot.

Walker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Walker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Imer is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Walker wants to control the pace but Imer is squirming around nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Walker postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Imer looks a forlorn figure.

Walker throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Walker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Imer is looking to escape.

Walker moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Imer has worked his arm free - good work by Imer!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walker tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Imer tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Walker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Imer keeps working.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Imer is trying to improve his position.
Walker advances nicely into full mount.
Walker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Walker prevents Imer from getting the reversal.
Imer is bucking up trying to escape but Walker cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Imer is looking to improve his position but Walker isn't that keen on the idea.
A nice elbow there by Walker.
Walker prevents Imer from getting the reversal.
Imer is squirming around, avoiding Walker's attempts to control the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walker lands a big elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Imer throws a sloppy head kick and Walker moves out of range easily.
Walker fails with a takedown attempt.
A head kick from Walker lands but Imer takes it in his stride.
Walker keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Walker connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Imer throws the kick towards the body but Walker avoids it.
Walker stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Walker fails to land the takedown.
Walker throws a leg kick but Imer sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Imer fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Walker to the ground. Imer is now in Walker's guard.
Imer wants to pass the guard but Walker is keeping the position.
Walker trying to keep a closed guard but Imer is proving a slippery customer.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Walker is adopting a defensive guard.

Imer wants to control but Walker is keeping him busy.
Walker is looking to regain half guard here but Imer keeps moving and retains side control.

Imer is looking for a kimura but Walker is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Imer to get the leverage.

Walker has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Imer is working away from the top position though.

Imer is pressing down on Walker's thigh, looking to free his foot. Walker is holding on for now.
Walker is staying active underneath Imer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Imer is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Walker has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Walker!

Imer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Walker is aware though and is defending well.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Imer is on top in guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Walker holds on and takes a little breather.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jack Walker was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Imer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Walker manages to avoid it.
Imer has his takedown stuffed
and Walker counters with a one-two to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Richard Imer will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Imer throws a jab when Walker was well out of range.
Walker scores with a head kick. Imer tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like Richard Imer has been cut.
Imer cracks Walker with a right hand to the side of the head.
A telegraphed right hand from Imer misses the target.
Walker takes one to the chin there.
Imer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Walker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Imer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Walker's guard.

A looping hook to the body misses from Imer. Walker does a little dance to reset his feet.
Imer takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Walker slips a straight right by Imer.

Walker gets caught napping as Imer dives in and scores a takedown. Walker manages to retain guard.
Walker is trying to control the position from the bottom.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Walker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Imer defends it easily.
Walker is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Walker might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Imer kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Richard Imer.
I think Imer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
