Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kidd's choice of entrance music: Cryin Like A Bitch. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Kidd. No joy for Gracie on that attempt.
Kidd defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gracie.
Kidd wants to clinch.
Kidd stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kidd wants it to stay on the feet.

Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gracie showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Gracie remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kidd wants to get back to his feet but Gracie drags him back down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Royce Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kidd is trying to improve his position.
Kidd wants to get back to his feet.
Kidd is trying to control Gracie's posture but Gracie avoids it.
Kidd is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gracie asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.
Kidd is trying to stand.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kidd is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Kidd is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.

Kidd is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gracie in particular looking to stall.
Gracie has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kidd doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Royce Gracie will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Gracie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kidd's guard.

Gracie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Kidd looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Kidd is looking to stand up but Gracie isn't so interested in that idea.

Gracie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kidd wants to stand up but Gracie is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Royce Gracie.
Kidd is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Jason Kidd comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kidd has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
