Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazu Nakamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Steptoe!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steptoe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Nakamura on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nakamura tries to get out of the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Steptoe jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Nakamura manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Steptoe is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nakamura knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Steptoe wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nakamura, who protects the arm well.
Steptoe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Steptoe is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nakamura is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Steptoe goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Nakamura has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Steptoe but great work by Nakamura.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Steptoe is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Nakamura asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nakamura tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Steptoe is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nakamura seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Steptoe is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nakamura pulls his head out easily.
Nakamura prevents Steptoe from improving his position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Nakamura is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Nakamura thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Steptoe's head.
Steptoe manages to get to full guard.
Steptoe wants to stand but Nakamura is controlling the position.
Nakamura knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Steptoe on the ground.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Steptoe looking for a sweep. Not yet Steptoe, not yet.
Nakamura chips away with some ground and pound.
Steptoe utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Nakamura throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Steptoe works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Steptoe dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Steptoe gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Nakamura counters with a double leg that slams his opponent to the canvas! Steptoe is in trouble here! Nakamura pounds away until the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Kazu Nakamura!
