Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dustin James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacob Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dustin James!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James pushes Miller up against the cage in a clinch.

James wants the takedown. Miller is fighting it off but James persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Miller's guard against the cage.

Miller working for a triangle but James defends it easily.
James wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.
James throwing strikes but missing.
James is looking to stand up but Miller won't let him.

Miller escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. James gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Miller has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. James is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Miller.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Miller manages to get back to half guard.

Miller won't allow James to pass to mount.

James content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Miller is looking for a sweep. James is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Miller is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but James pulls his head out easily.
James wants to free his trapped foot but Miller is holding on for dear life with his legs.
James is trying to control the action in half guard but Miller is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

James is looking to advance position but Miller won't allow it.

Miller makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

James clinches up with Miller and pushes him back against the cage.
James is working Miller over against the cage.
Miller is breathing heavily.

James gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James wants to free his trapped foot but Miller is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miller wants to improve his position but James is controlling well.
Miller avoiding damage under a succession of punches from James.
Miller is looking for a sweep. James is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

James uses his free foot to push down on Miller's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Miller.
Miller in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

James stands up from mount. Strange move.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from James is defended easily by Miller.
Miller shoots for a double leg takedown but James sprawls well. He's pushed Miller's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

James shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Miller manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
James pushes down on Miller's leg and manages to get into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
James lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
James is looking to take a break and control but Miller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
James works his foot free and advances to mount.

James stands up from mount. Strange move.
Miller swats away the attempt to clinch by James.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
James shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Miller as he jumps to the side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dustin James dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Miller prevents James from getting the reversal.

James defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Miller.
James working to try and regain half guard.
James tries to hold on but Miller postures up.
Miller can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as James is looking to escape.

Miller content just to control the position here.

Miller jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… James is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by James and Miller has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Miller working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Miller tries to advance to mount but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Miller off and has taken his back!
James lands punches and elbows.
James throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Miller!

James has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Miller is in bad spot here.
James is trying to stick to Miller's back but Miller is turning into James. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in James's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Miller.
Miller throws a strike but James rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
James works a leg free and moves into half guard.
James content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Miller wants to improve his position but James is controlling well.

James is working for a kimura here but Miller manages to reverse the position and he's now in James's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
James keeping moving, preventing Miller from controlling successfully.
James can't keep his opponent in guard - Miller advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Miller is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Miller throws a strike but James avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
James is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Miller is controlling him.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jacob Miller will probably get the nod.

Miller looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? James is fending him off so far but Miller persists. Nope, James circles away and we're back to standing.

James decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Miller is trying to maintain the position but James is very close to passing his half guard.
Miller wants to get back to his feet.
Miller moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
James slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
James wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miller keeps working.

James stands up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

No luck with that takedown attempt from James.
James fails with an attempt to clinch.
Miller tries for a takedown but James circles away easily

and James counters with a takedown into side control.
James slows the pace down.
Miller tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but James presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Miller is trying desperately to improve position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
James tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Miller is working to get back to half guard.

James can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Miller is looking to escape.

Miller looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

James has got one arm under Miller's chin. This could be trouble... Miller trying to control the other hand but James gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Miller has tapped out! The fight is over!
