The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desjardins bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jacare's head backwards.

It looks like Romero Jacare has been cut.
Jacare shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Desjardins sprawls well. Desjardins wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jacare gets slowly back to his feet.

Jacare drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jacare stops Desjardins from standing up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jacare drops back looking for a leg! Desjardins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Desjardins manages to kick Jacare off! Jacare jumps back into Desjardins's guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Desjardins is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jacare is controlling him.

Jacare is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Desjardins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jacare advances to full mount.
Desjardins is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Jacare with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jacare is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Desjardins is forced to tap! Great finish!
