Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Lemieux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Rooney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rooney comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Prodigy - Spitfire kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rooney takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Rooney shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lemieux defends it nicely.
Rooney avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lemieux scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Rooney walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Lemieux feints a jab promting Rooney to slip. Lemieux then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rooney slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lemieux has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lemieux in particular looking to stall.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rooney is breathing heavily.
Lemieux throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rooney stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Lemieux moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Rooney is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Lemieux's corner calls for a 1-2. Lemieux obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Rooney has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Rooney is rocked!
Lemieux cracks Rooney with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Rooney falls to his knees and Lemieux doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

A relieved looking David Lemieux thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
