The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Maia is fending him off so far but McGee persists. Nope, Maia circles away and we're back to standing.
McGee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McGee wants it to stay on the feet.

Maia gets a takedown into half guard.

Maia is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McGee is just riding it out for now. Maia eventually gives up the hold.
