The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like Chael Sonnen has been cut.
Gunn tries for a takedown but Sonnen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gunn tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sonnen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gunn tries to clinch there but Sonnen circles away.
Gunn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sonnen pinned against the cage. Sonnen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gunn misses with a takedown
and Sonnen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gunn!
Chael Sonnen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommy Gunn.
Sonnen lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gunn can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sonnen unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Gunn wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Sonnen celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
