The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Panavas throws a one two combo.
Panavas throws a right and a left that both miss.
Panavas scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Illicenko ducks under a wild hook from Panavas.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Panavas looks to score with a jab to the body but Illicenko is just out of range.
Illicenko moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Panavas goes down! Can Illicenko finish him!?


Panavas is rocked!
Illicenko prevents Panavas from getting back to his feet.
Oh Panavas is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Panavas doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Illicenko decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Panavas counters with a series of strikes. Illicenko will be more careful next time no doubt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

No joy there for Panavas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Illicenko loads up on a big right hand but Panavas slips the punch.

Illicenko tries to hold on but Panavas pushes him away.
Illicenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Panavas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Illicenko's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Panavas is breathing heavily.
Panavas misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

You get the feeling that Illicenko really doesn't like being in this position too much.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Illicenko might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Panavas kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Illicenko seems to be stalking Panavas here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Panavas drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
