The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaal shoots in and drives through. Shlemenko sprawls well.

Gaal clinches up against the cage.
Gaal wants to stall.

Gaal manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Shlemenko stops Gaal from standing up.
Gaal not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ruud Gaal.
Shlemenko connects with a jab.
Shlemenko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Shlemenko jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Aleksander Shlemenko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Gaal closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Shlemenko is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Gaal looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shlemenko is fending him off so far but Gaal persists. Nope, Shlemenko circles away and we're back to standing.
Shlemenko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gaal.
Gaal fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Aleksander Shlemenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ruud Gaal.
Shlemenko stalks Gaal and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gaal's face. Gaal staggers backwards, shaken.

Gaal shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shlemenko sprawls well. Shlemenko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gaal gets slowly back to his feet.
Shlemenko connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Shlemenko tries to bum rush Gaal with a series of wild strikes but Gaal uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gaal fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A left and a right from Shlemenko both land. Nice combination.

Gaal is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shlemenko wobbles Gaal with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Shlemenko dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Gaal to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!
