Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jose Alcano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alcano comes into the arena with Three Stars & A Sun blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briggs throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Briggs throws a sloppy head kick and Alcano moves out of range easily.

Briggs looking to score a takedown here. Alcano is defending well but Briggs drives through and ends up in Alcano's guard.

Alcano looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Briggs passes Alcano's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Briggs lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Alcano will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Briggs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Briggs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Alcano has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Alcano tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Briggs presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
