Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jex Midnight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniels has chosen Nas - Hate Me Now as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Midnight ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Daniels moves away.
Daniels falls off balance throwing a combination
and Midnight cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Daniels ducks under a wild hook from Midnight.
Midnight misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Daniels.

Midnight looks to land a right hand but Daniels moved out of range.

Daniels uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Midnight.
Midnight tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Daniels was well out of range. Poor timing from Midnight.

Daniels's corner calls for a 1-2. Daniels obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

and Daniels counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Midnight looks to land a left hand but Daniels moved out of range nicely.
Daniels uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Midnight.

Midnight fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Daniels sprawls well initially but Midnight persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Midnight wants to pass the guard but Daniels is defending well.
Daniels really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Midnight. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Daniels is trying to stand back up but Midnight is controlling him
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Daniels can do anything to dispel that myth.
Daniels scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Midnight manages to mount him!
Midnight lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Midnight is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Midnight throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Midnight thowing shots but they're missing.
Daniels is trying to stand up.
Daniels holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Midnight tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Midnight has hold of Daniels's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Daniels manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
BOOM! Midnight connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Daniels is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Midnight locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Daniels is forced to tap!
