Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Pound (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ahmad Malushev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pound's entrance music is When I'm Gone - Eminem. A fine choice. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jay Pound!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ahmad Malushev!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pound gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Malushev trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Malushev is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pound keeping moving, preventing Malushev from controlling successfully.
Malushev is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Malushev throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pound works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Malushev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Malushev tries to free his leg and advance position but Pound is retaining full guard.

Pound keeping moving, preventing Malushev from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Malushev pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pound is keeping the position for now.
Pound avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Malushev postures up in Pound's guard and throws a big left but Pound blocks it.
Pound keeping moving, preventing Malushev from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ahmad Malushev was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Malushev shoots in and bounces Pound off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Malushev is looking to work some ground and pound but Pound has wrist control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pound manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Malushev manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pound throws a big right hand that misses.
Pound might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Malushev looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pound is one step ahead there.
Pound lands a couple of digs.
Pound trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pound accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Malushev controls Pound momentarily but Pound frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pound passes Malushev's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Malushev is looking for a sweep. Pound is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pound lands with a punch from half guard.
Malushev is looking to get back to full guard here but Pound has managed to pass to side control instead.
Pound scores with a couple of short elbows.
Pound trying to control the position but Malushev is working away.
Pound scoring with punches and elbows.
Pound working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Pound cracks Malushev with a big right hand but Malushev just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Malushev is looking to regain half guard here but Pound keeps moving and retains side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pound controlling the position.
Pound is looking to take a break and control but Malushev is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Malushev is looking to reverse the position.
Malushev prevents Pound from moving into mount.
Pound is working hard here to advance position.
Pound landing strikes.
Pound works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Malushev tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Pound in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pound cracks Malushev with a big right hand but Malushev just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Pound blocks the strikes from Malushev.
Pound looks up at the clock and then as Malushev takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Pound smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pound working the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Pound dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Pound lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Malushev at a distance.
Malushev showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pound.
Malushev swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Pound counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Malushev!
Pound is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Malushev is wriggling around trying to escape.
Pound connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pound working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Pound looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Pound is landing with some decent strikes but Malushev is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


Malushev is rocked!
Pound postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Malushev bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Pound and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Pound!
A relieved looking Jay Pound thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
