The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruutu takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Mikko Ruutu has been cut.
Byvalyi jabs at Ruutu's body.
Byvalyi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Borya Byvalyi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A jab from Byvalyi does it's job there.
Ruutu misses with a series of wild punches.
Ruutu drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Byvalyi swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ruutu counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Byvalyi pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ruutu back to the cage. Byvalyi follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Byvalyi drops Ruutu with a left right combo! Byvalyi follows him down to the ground into side control.

Ruutu is rocked!

Byvalyi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ruutu has escaped the position, nice work there.

Byvalyi tries for a kimura but Ruutu is defending well.
Ruutu is looking for a sweep.

Byvalyi is working to tighten is grip on Ruutu's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ruutu has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Byvalyi is really squeezing tight and eventually Ruutu passes out! Byvalyi breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
