The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demonic scores with a leg kick.
Demonic throws a head kick that Gracie semi-blocks.
Demonic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Demonic counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Demonic throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gracie on the side of the head.

Gracie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Demonic manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gracie moves in looking to clinch but Demonic pushes him off.

Demonic uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Demonic feints a jab promting Gracie to slip. Demonic then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gracie slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Demonic thows a body shot but no joy.

Demonic shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gracie eats them both and turns towards Demonic to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Demonic is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Gracie drives through with a takedown into Demonic's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Demonic wants to stand and escape but Gracie is having none of it.
Gracie missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Demonic is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Demonic leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Demonic but Demonic pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Demonic throws a leg kick which misses Gracie's front leg but catches the back leg as Gracie tries to avoid it.
Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Demonic sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Demonic, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Demonic against the cage but Demonic circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Demonic lands a nice looking body shot.

Demonic lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gracie backs up against the cage.
Gracie shoots for a takedown but Demonic saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Demonic fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gracie on the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gracie dives in and grabs Demonic's left leg, looking for a takedown. Demonic pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Demonic connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gracie. Gracie circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Demonic lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Gracie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Demonic knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are battling for position here. Demonic manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
