The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels scores with a hook.
Jakua stuffs the takedown attempt from Michaels. Michaels gets slowly back to his feet.
Jakua misses with a few strikes there.
Jakua will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jakua walks into a left hand.

It looks like Kris Jakua has been cut.
Jakua tries for a takedown but Michaels sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Michaels listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jakua tries to bum rush Michaels with a series of wild strikes but Michaels uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Good work by Michaels as he checks the leg kick.
Michaels connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Michaels lands a nice shot that snaps Jakua's head back.

Michaels drops Jakua with a left and a right! Oh, Jakua is hurt - Michaels dives into side control looking to finish!

Jakua isn't going anywhere.

Michaels stands up and beckons Jakua to his feet.
Jakua seems to have got his legs back now.
Michaels scores with a body shot.

Michaels is trying to pull guard but Jakua has him pressed against the cage.
Jakua is trying to break free.
Jakua tries to pull guard but Michaels holds him up against the cage and eventually Jakua drops back down to his feet.
Michaels gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jakua.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kris Jakua. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jakua is breathing heavily.

Jakua's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Jakua with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Michaels to score with a decent uppercut.

Jakua is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Michaels doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Jakua crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Jakua's bad books for that mishap!
