PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Guavo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guavo has chosen Super Star as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guavo stuffs the takedown.
Rogers moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Guavo circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Rogers counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Guavo's guard now.
Guavo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rogers manages to get himself to full guard.
Rogers controls Guavo momentarily but Guavo frees himself.

Guavo wants to control from the top but Rogers keeps moving.

Guavo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rogers is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Guavo, into his guard.
Guavo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rogers!

Rogers holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Guavo tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rogers defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Guavo.

Guavo is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rogers has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Guavo seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Rogers is holding on tight.

Guavo goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Rogers is on top in guard.

Guavo wants to sweep but no luck.

Guavo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rogers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rogers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rogers wants to stand but Guavo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Guavo looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Rogers is defending well. Guavo quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Rogers has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Guavo celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
