Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Satoshi Ishii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Pessanha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Anderson Pessanha was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ishii scores with a takedown into Pessanha's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Satoshi Ishii has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Ishii decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Ishii knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pessanha on the ground.

Ishii has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Ishii seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pessanha for as long as he can get away with.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ishii looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pessanha is fending him off so far but Ishii persists. Nope, Pessanha circles away and we're back to standing.

Pessanha is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Ishii has his hands clasped together but Pessanha extends an breaks Ishii's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Pessanha.
