Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cut Richard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Mufflin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cut Richard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cut Richard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derek Mufflin!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Richard drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Richard throws an elbow that misses. Mufflin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Richard's guard. Nice move by Mufflin!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mufflin showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Mufflin is pushing down on Richard's leg trying to pass to half guard. Richard is fighting to maintain full guard but Mufflin has managed to sneak the leg through.
Mufflin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Richard is pressing down on Mufflin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Richard is looking for a triangle but Mufflin pushes his legs off easily.

Richard looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Mufflin has picked Richard up and slammed him! Richard can't keep hold of the triangle and Mufflin manages to pass to side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Richard being controlled for a moment.
Let's hope that Mufflin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Derek Mufflin.

Richard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Richard wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mufflin, who protects the arm well.

Richard is trying to get an arm triangle but Mufflin is defending well.
Mufflin is trying to control Richard's posture but Richard avoids it.

Mufflin is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Richard is staying active.
Mufflin is looking to reverse the position.
Mufflin wants to control but Richard postures up.
Mufflin is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Richard is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mufflin keeping hold of Richard's head, controlling as best he can.

Richard is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mufflin has managed to free his arm - good work.

Mufflin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mufflin.
Richard wants to pass the guard but Mufflin is keeping the position.
Richard wants to control from the top but Mufflin keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Richard has gone for a leg lock! Mufflin slips out almost immediately though and dives into Richard's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Derek Mufflin will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Mufflin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Mufflin keeping full guard, as Richard tries to pass.
Mufflin controls Richard momentarily but Richard frees himself.
Richard wants to pass the guard but Mufflin is keeping the position.

Mufflin wants to sweep here but Richard controlling him for the moment.

Richard passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Richard is trying to control the action in half guard but Mufflin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Richard is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mufflin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Richard.

Richard is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mufflin defends it well.

Mufflin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Richard shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Richard was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Richard moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mufflin has worked his arm free - good work by Mufflin!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Richard tries for a kimura but Mufflin is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cut Richard dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Mufflin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Richard slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Richard looking for subs from the bottom but Mufflin mounts him!
Richard is trying to escape the mount but Mufflin keeps good control and instead manages to take Richard's back.
I would not like to be Richard right now.

Mufflin punishes Richard with strikes from the back mount.
Mufflin is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Mufflin has the hooks in. Richard is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Richard trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Mufflin trying to control momentarily.
Richard wants to escape the position.
Mufflin is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
Mufflin keeps control of the position as Richard tries to break free.
Mufflin lands with a hammerfist to the side of Richard's head.

Mufflin has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Richard's body.

Mufflin scores with punches from the back.
Richard is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Mufflin.
Richard can't escape the position.

Mufflin trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Richard doesn't escape.

Mufflin is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Richard has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Richard tries to roll but Mufflin sticks to his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mufflin scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Richard is looking for a way out.

Mufflin is looking for a choke. Richard gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Richard manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Derek Mufflin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mufflin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
