The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xoul scoring well with a low kick there.
Zorich fakes the leg kick and cracks Xoul in the body.
Xoul looks gassed!
Xoul takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Xoul can do anything to dispel that myth.

Zorich tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Zorich seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Xoul for as long as he can get away with.
Zorich is landing with some decent strikes but Xoul is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Zorich's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Chris Zorich really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that 1337 ANZAC logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
