Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Al Kaeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Synephrine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Synephrine is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Hammerfall - Hearts On Fire . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Al Kaeda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Synephrine!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Synephrine misses with a jab, cross combination.
Synephrine tries to clinch up but Kaeda circles away and keeps his distance.
Kaeda throws a lazy head kick

and Synephrine counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Synephrine.
Synephrine tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kaeda smiles and moves away.
Kaeda throws a leg kick which misses Synephrine's front leg but catches the back leg as Synephrine tries to avoid it.
Kaeda scores with a head kick.

Synephrine fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kaeda sprawls well initially but Synephrine persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Synephrine looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Synephrine wants to take a breather but Kaeda is having none of it.

Synephrine is trying to work for a kimura but Kaeda is defending well.
Kaeda wants to get back to his feet.
Kaeda has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Synephrine is working away from the top position though.
Kaeda regains full guard. Nicely done.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kaeda wants to control but Synephrine is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Synephrine is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kaeda doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Synephrine.
Kaeda is looking to control Synephrine's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kaeda avoid being mounted?

Sam Synephrine dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kaeda misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Al Kaeda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Synephrine fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kaeda avoids it really well and circles away.

Synephrine swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kaeda counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Synephrine is lucky that one didn't land flush.


It looks like Sam Synephrine has been cut.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kaeda. Synephrine shrugs it off though.

Synephrine misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Al Kaeda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Synephrine.

Kaeda throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Synephrine.
Kaeda tries a head kick but it misses.
Kaeda looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Synephrine avoids the head kick by Kaeda.
Synephrine looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kaeda is fending him off so far but Synephrine persists. Nope, Kaeda circles away and we're back to standing.
Kaeda lands a nice looking kick to the body. Synephrine takes a step back to recover.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fight stays on the outside here - Kaeda looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kaeda throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Synephrine's head.

Synephrine throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kaeda was covering up waiting for the punch and Synephrine finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kaeda will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Synephrine wants to stand but Kaeda is controlling his posture from full guard.

Synephrine pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kaeda is keeping the position for now.

Synephrine got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kaeda has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Synephrine has managed to get both his arms back between Kaeda's legs - danger averted.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Kaeda's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Kaeda enables Synephrine to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kaeda manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kaeda is desperately trying to improve his position but Synephrine has a good base and remains in mount.

Synephrine is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kaeda can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Kaeda is wriggling around trying to escape.
Synephrine avoids the attempt from Kaeda to control.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Synephrine jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kaeda manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Synephrine misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Synephrine swings around for an armbar but Kaeda sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Synephrine's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sam Synephrine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Synephrine has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
