Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Quentin Cane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lawrence Cohen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cane's entrance music is Rob Zombie - What. A fine choice. Cohen has chosen Season in the Abyss as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Quentin Cane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Lawrence Cohen!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cane fails with a takedown attempt.
Cohen shoots in for a double leg but Cane sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cane misses with a few strikes there.
Cohen darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Cane shoots in but Cohen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cane is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cohen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Cane has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cohen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cane is looking to escape.

You get the feeling that Cane really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Cane tries to lock up and control but Cohen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cohen has control of Cane's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Cane regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Cane has taken the fight to the clinch.

Cohen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cane sneaks out the side door and pushes Cohen away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Cane feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cohen throws a lazy right hand but Cane sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Quentin Cane.
Well Cane has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
