Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between TJ Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph D Pistone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pistone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Clint Mansell - Requiem for a Dream (Remix). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pistone catches Griffin with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Pistone lands a nice hook to Griffin's body. Griffin takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Pistone shoots in and drives through. Griffin sprawls well.

Pistone closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pistone lands in his opponent's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pistone postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Griffin pulls Pistone in to control the position.
Pistone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Griffin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pistone drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pistone jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Griffin takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Pistone slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Pistone cracks a nice hook into Griffin's ribs.
Pistone connects with a jab.
Griffin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pistones jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Pistone connects with a good right hand that stumbles Griffin. Griffin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Pistone tries for a takedown but Griffin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Griffin throws an overhand right that lands on Pistone's shoulder, as Pistone tries to avoid the shot.

Pistone does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Pistone throws out a loose jab but Griffin uses good head movement to avoid it.

Pistone throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Griffin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pistone is in Griffin's guard.
