PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abdul Raheem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lenikonu Palowunu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raheem comes into the arena with Sami Yusuf - Supplication blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raheem misses with an uppercut.
Raheem throws a head kick but Palowunu moves out of range.
Palowunu avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Raheem throws out a loose jab but Palowunu uses good head movement to avoid it.
Raheem scoring well with a low kick there.

It looks like Lenikonu Palowunu has been cut.
Palowunu blocks a low kick nicely.
Raheem circles away from the clinch attempt.
Palowunu moves out of range of the leg kick from Raheem.
Raheem throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Palowunu shoots in and drives through. Raheem sprawls well.
The fight stays on the outside here - Palowunu looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Raheem lands a leg kick that knocks Palowunu off balance momentarily.
Abdul Raheem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Palowunu doesn't manage to clinch there - Raheem circles away.
Raheem throws the left hand but Palowunu avoids the punch easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Raheem throws a head kick that misses.
Raheem misses with the combination.
Raheem lands with a kick to the ribs.
Palowunu tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Palowunu takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Raheem works the jab nicely.
Palowunu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Raheem paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Palowunu misses with a takedown attempt - Raheem sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Palowunu thows a body shot but no joy.

and Raheem counters with a nice leg kick.
Abdul Raheem has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lenikonu Palowunu.
Palowunu looks gassed!
Palowunu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Raheem manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Raheem swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Raheem throws a good cross that connects.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Raheem lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A big right from Raheem misses.
Palowunu tries for a takedown but Raheem circles away easily
letting Raheem counter with a right hand.
Raheem throws a hook but Palowunu blocks it.
Palowunu walks into a left hand.
Raheem throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Palowunu.

That has opened up Lenikonu Palowunu's cut even more.
Raheem cracks Palowunu with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Palowunu walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Raheem connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

The cut above Lenikonu Palowunu's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Raheem circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Palowunu to the canvas! Palowunu doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Raheem keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
