Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Joe Fredericks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ikki Minami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Minami has chosen I'm Turning Japanese by The Vapors as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Ikki Minami enters the ring!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ikki Minami!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fredericks will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Minami misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Fredericks swings for the body but Minami moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Fredericks. Minami does a little dance to reset his feet.
Fredericks ducks under a wild hook from Minami.
Minami takes one on the button.
Fredericks turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Fredericks, right into the meat.
Fredericks swings for the body but Minami moves out of range.

Minami moves into the clinch.
Minami is trying to force a seperation but Fredericks has the dominant position.
Minami wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Minami wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fredericks has him pressed against the ropes.
Fredericks doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Minami.

Fredericks makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Fredericks keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Minami's efforts to push away.
Fredericks tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Minami's elbow.
Minami is trying to break the clinch but Fredericks is controlling him.
Minami wants to break free but Fredericks has control.

Fredericks tries to throw a body punch but Minami avoids it by throwing Fredericks back against the ropes.

Fredericks throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


It looks like Ikki Minami has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fredericks misses with a leg kick.

Minami has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Fredericks.
Minami throws a sloppy body shot
and Fredericks counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Minami on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Fredericks. Fredericks obviously looking to wear him down.
Fredericks throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Minami on the side of the head.
Fredericks connects with a single shot there.
Fredericks is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Minami misses with a double jab
and Fredericks counters with a nice low kick that buckles Minami's knee momentarily.
Joe Fredericks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Minami tries to clinch up but Fredericks circles away and keeps his distance.

Minami has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Fredericks.
Minami throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Fredericks is looking to land body kicks.
The crowd cheers as Fredericks lands an impressive looking overhand right. Minami doesn't seem phased though.


Minami is rocked!
Fredericks turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Minami is still on wobbly legs! Can Fredericks finish him?
Minami looks gassed!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Fredericks engages and cracks Minami with a massive lead left hook - Minami tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Fredericks is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joe Fredericks!
A very excited looking Joe Fredericks made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
