Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Otto Maddox!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A decent looking cross lands there for Maddox.
Otto Maddox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maddox closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. dos Nikkos did well to prevent Maddox getting side control.

dos Nikkos is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Maddox pulls his head out easily.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maddox connects with a nice short shot to dos Nikkos's temple.
Maddox working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
dos Nikkos is looking for a sweep. Maddox is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maddox looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks dos Nikkos with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Maddox winds up and cracks dos Nikkos with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Maddox is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Maddox throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
dos Nikkos has hold of Maddox's hands but Maddox slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maddox in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Maddox loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
dos Nikkos wants to sweep here but Maddox controlling him for the moment.
Maddox must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

dos Nikkos tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Maddox wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Maddox works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Oh dos Nikkos is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
dos Nikkos is trying to control Maddox's posture but Maddox avoids it.
dos Nikkos is looking to reverse the position.
dos Nikkos seems to have got his legs back now.
Maddox lands a few punches from side control.
Maddox working the head and body with strikes.
Maddox lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear dos Nikkos down.

Maddox in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and dos Nikkos looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Maddox turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

A relieved looking Otto Maddox thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
