PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shannon Albright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Dorkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dorkin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Duelling Banjos kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shannon Albright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alan Dorkin!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dorkin throws a head kick that misses.
Albright really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dorkin throws out a leg kick but Albright moves out of range and Dorkin only half commits.
Albright moves in looking to clinch but Dorkin pushes him off.
Albright connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Albright lands with a shot to the body.
Albright looks for the body kick but Dorkin saw that one coming.
Albright fails with a takedown attempt.
Dorkin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Albright tries to avoid it but Dorkin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Albright to the ground. Albright escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Albright drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dorkin pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Albright counters with a left to the body.
Dorkin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Albright as he jumps to the side.
Alan Dorkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Albright connects with the punch.


It looks like Alan Dorkin has been cut.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dorkin is not content to let Albright control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Albright moves into the clinch.

Albright breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Albright is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Albright throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shannon Albright is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Albright looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Albright keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Shannon Albright has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Dorkin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dorkin closes the distance and clinches up with Albright, looking for a takedown. Dorkin pushes Albright against the cage but Albright circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Albright shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dorkin but Dorkin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dorkin throws an overhand right that lands on Albright's shoulder, as Albright tries to avoid the shot.

and Dorkin counters with a head kick that drops Albright - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground!


Albright is rocked!

Dorkin seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Albright is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
