The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hammer!

It looks like Brett Johnson has been cut.
Hammer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hammer swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Johnson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hammer's guard.

Hammer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! Hammer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hammer manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into Hammer's guard.

Hammer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Johnson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammer controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.

Hammer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hammer is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.

Hammer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hammer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Johnson defends it easily.
Johnson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hammer's guard.

Johnson seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Hammer is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
