McCartny tries for a takedown but Pavlis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

McCartny is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pavlis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip McCartny to the mat. McCartny regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

McCartny throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pavlis was covering up waiting for the punch and McCartny finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pavlis shoots in looking for a takedown. McCartny tries to sprawl out of it but Pavlis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McCartny manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
