Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Orpheu De Perereca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zak Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen earthquake as his entrance music. Jones has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Zak Jones will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Perereca fails in his attempt to clinch.
De Perereca looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

De Perereca falls off balance throwing a combination

and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in De Perereca's guard now.
Jones stops De Perereca from standing up.

Jones sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed De Perereca's guard.

Jones is looking for a kimura but De Perereca is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage.
De Perereca might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
De Perereca pushes Jones off but Jones dives into side control.
Jones slows the pace down.

Jones decides to stand back up. Jones steps back and let's De Perereca get back to his feet.

Jones has De Perereca up against the cage in a clinch.
De Perereca has had enough of the clinch but Jones keeps him there for the moment.

Jones gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Jones is trying to control. De Perereca wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
De Perereca looks like he's trying to stand up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but De Perereca keeps working.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Jones will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning De Perereca up against the cage.
De Perereca managing to block the knees to the body from Jones.
De Perereca tries to circle away but Jones has him pinned against the cage.

Jones is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. De Perereca can't fight it off and eventually Jones manages to take the fight to the floor. De Perereca looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jones throws a strike but De Perereca rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.

Jones in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
De Perereca is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jones is controlling him.

Jones stands up and waves to De Perereca to follow him.

Jones shoots in and bounces De Perereca off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jones stops De Perereca from standing up.
Zak Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.

Jones engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
De Perereca wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jones advances position into side control!

Jones tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

De Perereca tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Jones looking to break De Perereca's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. De Perereca remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Jones will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
De Perereca is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Jones. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Jones slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zak Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


De Perereca throws a series of punches but Jones moves out of range.

Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Jones's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
De Perereca is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jones might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control De Perereca kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Jones stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Jones looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for De Perereca!
De Perereca tries to buck Jones off but he can't manage it.

Jones controlling the position easily from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Perereca is trying to stand up.
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jones lands a nice shot to the head.
Jones in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones has control of De Perereca's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and De Perereca regains control of the situation pretty easily.
