Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Athur Beetson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wally Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wally Lewis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Athur Beetson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wally Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beetson lands a slapping body shot.
Beetson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lewis.
Lewis wants to clinch but Beetson slips to the side
and Beetson counters with a stiff right hand.
Lewis throws an off balance right hand
and Beetson counters with a two punch combo.
Sloppy strikes from Beetson. Those never looked like landing.
Lewis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Beetson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Beetson looks to land a left hand but Lewis moved out of range nicely.
Lewis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Beetson counters with a straight right hand.
Lewis takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Sloppy strikes from Lewis. Those never looked like landing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lewis thows a left - swing and a miss!
Beetson fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Lewis slips a jab and a cross from Beetson.
Beetson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Beetson lunges at Lewis with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lewis's hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lewis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Beetson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lewis somewhat.
Lewis misses with an uppercut. Beetson saw that one coming.
Lewis misses with an uppercut.
Beetson lands a jab to Lewis's midsection.
Lewis tries to clinch up.
Beetson misses with a head kick.
Lewis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Wally Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lewis throws a hook but Beetson blocks it.
Horrible takedown by Lewis or perhaps it was just good defense by Beetson which made him look bad.
Lewis throws a poor cross that misses
and Beetson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Lewis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Beetson pinned against the cage. Beetson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Athur Beetson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wally Lewis.
Beetson lands a jab to Lewis's midsection.
Lewis looks gassed!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Beetson lands a jab-cross combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lewis shoots for a takedown but Beetson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lewis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Beetson.
Beetson scores with a punch to the head.
Lewis on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.


It looks like Wally Lewis has been cut.
Lewis throws a left and a right that both miss
and Beetson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Lewis walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Beetson feints a jab promting Lewis to slip. Beetson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lewis slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Lewis is trying desperately to land a takedown but Beetson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Lewis.

Lewis has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lewis there as he acknowledges the shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheers as Beetson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lewis doesn't seem phased though.
Beetson lands the left hand.

Beetson moves into the clinch successfully.
Lewis manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Beetson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Beetson swats away the attempt to clinch by Lewis.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lewis throws a shot from downtown. Beetson moves away and avoids it.
Beetson throws a shot to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Beetson tries to work over Lewis's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lewis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Beetson's efforts to push away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Athur Beetson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Wally Lewis's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lewis throws a sloppy body shot
and Beetson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Beetson digs a good hook to Lewis's body.
Lewis misses with a double jab
and Beetson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch but Beetson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lewis throws a shot from downtown. Beetson moves away and avoids it.
Beetson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Lewis moves forwards but Beetson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Lewis misses with an uppercut
and Beetson counters with a series of strikes. Lewis will be more careful next time no doubt.
Lewis might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Beetson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Beetson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lewis shoots in looking for a takedown but Beetson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lewis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lewis is breathing heavily.
Lewis misses with a hook.
Athur Beetson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Beetson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Lewis takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Beetson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lewis.
Beetson punishes Lewis's body with a nice straight punch.
Lewis throws a predictable looking body shot
and Beetson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Beetson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Lewis throws a leg kick
and Lewis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Beetson connects with a body shot that sends Lewis's belly button to the back.
Beetson punishes Lewis's body with a nice straight punch.
Left hook, right uppercut from Beetson.
Lewis gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Beetson gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Lewis is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Athur Beetson!
A relieved looking Athur Beetson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
