Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Melanko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Rumble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melanko comes to the ring accompanied by "Back In The Saddle Again" by Aerosmith. Rumble has chosen Click Click Boom as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rumble shoots in for a double leg but Melanko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rumble wants to clinch up but Melanko keeps it at a distance.

Melanko tries to break the clinch but Rumble is controlling the position.

Rumble gets control of Melanko's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rumble will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Melanko drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rumble manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Melanko has Rumble in his guard.

Melanko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rumble defends well.
Rumble missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Rumble has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Melanko has his foot on Rumble's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rumble works his way back into a safe position though.
